Urgent Fundraising – Ng See Yaan (Heart Disease)
Description
“Watching our daughter grow weaker every day while being helpless breaks our hearts... We only hope she can undergo the surgery as soon as possible. We sincerely plead for your kind support to save our child.”
Ng See Yaan, an 11-month-old baby girl from Skudai, Johor, is the firstborn of her parents. What they initially thought would be the arrival of a healthy baby was met with a series of challenges.
Baby See Yaan was admitted to the hospital for five days due to a bacterial lung infection right after birth. Once her condition stabilized, she was discharged. However, her parents noticed that she often had difficulty breathing. Doctors advised that as long as she avoided crying excessively, the situation would remain manageable.
The family thought things were improving, but her milk intake began to decrease significantly. By the time she turned nine months old, See Yaan became lethargic and completely refused to drink milk. Alarmed, her parents rushed her to seek medical attention. A doctor at the clinic detected abnormal heart murmurs and referred her to the hospital for further examination.
Tests revealed that she has a congenital heart defect, with an 11mm hole in the center of her heart. Doctors have recommended urgent surgery to close the hole, as any delay could be life-threatening.

Doctors have confirmed that baby Ng See Yaan is suffering from Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), a congenital heart defect with an 11mm hole in the center of her heart. They warned that if left untreated, this condition could lead to elevated pulmonary pressure and eventual heart failure, with potentially devastating consequences.
Although a surgery has been scheduled, the cost amounts to RM80,000. The couple has managed to save RM10,000 through frugal living, but they still face a daunting RM70,000 shortfall, leaving them under immense financial pressure.
See Yaan’s father, Ng Hai Sang (30), works as a supervisor at an optical shop, while her mother, Chiam Qiao Yi (34), was a shop assistant. Since their daughter’s diagnosis, the mother has resigned to focus on caring for See Yaan full-time. Despite the overwhelming financial burden, the young couple remains steadfast in their determination to save their daughter.
“She is our first child. Seeing her suffer is heartbreaking for us. No matter what, we will do everything we can to save her. But the cost is far beyond our means, and we humbly appeal to the public for help.”
After a thorough review, One Hope Charity & Welfare has decided to assist in raising the necessary medical funds. The family has entrusted the organization to manage the fundraising efforts.
