Urgent Fundraising – Loh Yoon Hee (Subarachnoid Hemorrhage)

Description
Loh Yoon Hee, a 57-year-old chicken rice hawker from Sungai Petani, Kedah, has worked diligently for over 30 years, braving all weather conditions to support his family and raise his children. Despite never having suffered from any major illness, he was suddenly struck by an excruciating headache on Tuesday. He was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a life-threatening subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Without immediate treatment, he risks falling into a prolonged coma or even becoming vegetative.
Doctors promptly performed an emergency procedure to drain the intracranial blood clot. However, he still requires coiling embolization surgery to repair the abnormal blood vessels and prevent further bleeding. This unexpected medical crisis has thrown his modest household into financial turmoil. With the RM100,000 surgical cost beyond their means, his desperate wife and child are now seeking help from the public.
【The insurance coverage has been exhausted. Due to the severity and urgency of the condition, immediate surgery is required. However, the overwhelming surgical costs are crushing the family】
Loh Yoon Hee used to leave home at 3 AM every day to set up his chicken rice stall at a coffee shop, working tirelessly until noon before heading home to rest. However, on February 13, while going about his usual routine, he suddenly experienced an excruciating headache at 8 AM. He sought treatment at a clinic, where his condition slightly improved. The doctor, concerned about his symptoms, issued a referral letter recommending further examination at a hospital.
Unfortunately, upon returning home at 1 PM, his headache worsened, becoming even more severe than in the morning. Since he had medical insurance, he immediately went to a specialist hospital for further examination. The diagnosis revealed a ruptured blood vessel caused by a cerebrovascular malformation, requiring urgent surgery to remove the intracranial blood clot. Without immediate intervention, he risked falling into a coma or even becoming vegetative.
Although his insurance covered the first phase of surgery, the policy limit has been fully exhausted. The next critical procedure coiling embolization requires RM100,000, without which his life remains in grave danger.
Now, the family faces a dire situation, the patient’s condition is critical, the insurance funds are depleted, and the overwhelming medical expenses are crushing his wife and children. Desperate and helpless, they are urgently appealing for public donations to raise the remaining RM100,000 needed for the surgery.
Loh Yoon Hee is the sole breadwinner, earning approximately RM3,000 per month. His wife (56), is a housewife. They have three children, eldest daughter (30) works at an accounting firm with a salary of RM4,200, second son (25) currently unemployed, youngest daughter (23) is a special needs child with a 40-degree spinal curvature. She works as a store assistant, earning only RM500 per month, while undergoing regular physiotherapy and treatment.
With this unexpected financial burden, the family is unable to cover the massive medical expenses. They are now reaching out to the public, hoping for kind-hearted individuals to extend a helping hand during this difficult time.
After an urgent review, One Hope Charity & Welfare has decided to launch a fundraising campaign to help Loh Yoon Hee raise the RM100,000 needed for his surgery.
