Urgent Fundraising – Bosco Wong Yi Loong (Bilateral Cochlear Implant)
Description
Bosco Wong Yi Loong, a cheerful and adorable 2-year-old boy from Miri, Sarawak, was born with bilateral hearing loss. Unlike other children his age, he has never experienced the sounds of life. Despite knowing about his hearing impairment, his adoptive parents chose to embrace him wholeheartedly, completed the adoption process, and have raised him as their own child.
To give Bosco the ability to hear and live a fuller life, doctors recommend a bilateral cochlear implant surgery. This procedure offers him the only chance to regain hearing and lead a normal life. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery and implants amounts to a staggering RM147,000, a financial burden his family cannot bear alone.
Today, this loving family is reaching out for your kindness and support. Every contribution brings Bosco one step closer to hearing the world around him and sharing in the joys that other children experience. Your generosity can make a life-changing difference—together, let’s help open the door to a world of sound for Bosco.
【Biological Mother Faced Unplanned Pregnancy and Depression, Father Absent—2-Year-Old Boy Born Deaf Seeks Help for Life-Changing Surgery with the Love and Support of His Adoptive Parents】
Bosco Wong Yi Loong faced life’s challenges from the moment he was born. His biological mother, suffering from depression, had an unplanned pregnancy, while his biological father remains untraceable. Diagnosed with bilateral deafness, Bosco’s world has always been silent. Yet, his story took a hopeful turn when love found him through his adoptive parents.
This devoted family is led by Ericsson Mahesh (27), an Iban medical assistant specializing in ENT, with a monthly income of RM3,200. His wife, Jee Sing Ling (28), works as a daycare teacher, earning RM1,000 per month. Since Bosco was just 6 months old, they have lovingly cared for him day and night, building a deep bond of love and trust. Their commitment and compassion led them to legally adopt him, embracing him wholeheartedly as their own child.
In an effort to improve Bosco’s quality of life, his parents purchased a hearing aid with their own savings and borrowed equipment from the hospital. However, despite these efforts, the improvement in his hearing has been minimal. According to medical experts, a bilateral cochlear implant is the only hope for him to regain his hearing.
Unfortunately, the total cost of the implants and surgery amounts to RM147,000, an overwhelming burden for this humble family. Now, they are turning to the kindness and generosity of the public to help give Bosco the gift of sound and a brighter future filled with opportunity.
Following a thorough review, One Hope Charity has resolved to raise the full amount of RM147,000 to cover Bosco’s medical expenses. His family has entrusted us with full responsibility for managing this fundraising campaign.
One Hope Charity will also allocate RM7,000 from the "Emergency Medical and Contingency Fund". For inquiries, please contact One Hope Charity’s hotline at: 04-539 9212, 016-419 2192, 019-232 2192, or 018-911 4192.
