“When I heard that I was diagnosed with a rare and serious heart condition, I was constantly on edge, fearing that my aorta might rupture at any moment... Every day, I pray for myself and hope to undergo surgery as soon as possible.”

Oi Lai Heng, who suffers from a rare abdominal aortic dissection (AAD), is in urgent need of surgery. After thorough review, One Hope Charity approved the aid and promptly ordered the stent from Germany. The stent has now arrived at Penang General Hospital, and the doctors are preparing for the Frozen Elephant Trunk (FET) surgery as soon as his condition is stable.

Oi Lai Heng remains hospitalized and conscious. The doctors have informed him that the blood vessel that supplies blood from his heart is ruptured and swollen, resulting in a high heart rate. To prevent his heart from overloading and causing the vessel to burst, doctors are administering medication to lower his heart rate. In case of any sudden emergencies, the doctors are prepared to perform a temporary heart bypass surgery to address immediate threats.

With the necessary RM75,000 for his medical expenses now fully raised, Oi Lai Heng’s children are deeply grateful for the public's generous assistance. They have promised that once everything stabilizes, they will continue to support other vulnerable groups, giving back to the community that has helped them so much.
