"Because my children are young, if anything were to happen to me, not only would I be unable to help my wife but it would also add to her burden. Therefore, I need to stay strong. They are my pillars of strength, and I hope to see my children grow up, start families, and succeed in life. Thank you all for giving me a second chance at life."

47-year-old Loo Kok Choy from Penang's Jelutong has been undergoing dialysis for 11 years, enduring various pains such as burst blood vessels at the catheter site and multiple surgeries for fistula placement. Nevertheless, he continues to work diligently, taking on the responsibilities of a husband and father alongside his wife in raising their three children.

Now, he eagerly awaits the opportunity for a kidney transplant. Over the past few months, he has actively participated in medical examinations, with the final test completed in early May. He awaits a call from the hospital and will need to rush to Kuala Lumpur immediately upon receiving it for the organ transplant surgery, with his wife accompanying him while their three children will be cared for by their grandparents.

According to the doctors, after the kidney transplant, he will need to reside near the hospital for three to six months. If his body does not reject the transplant, he can return to Penang. He will also need to take anti-rejection medication.

"I am grateful for the support of the community in raising the necessary RM 50,000 for expenses."

If successful in the kidney transplant and able to resume normal life, he hopes to seek employment again, returning to his former field of information technology, and continue to contribute to society through charitable activities.
