An 88-year-old solitary elderly man passed away in his sleep, just 12 days after being settled into a nursing home to enjoy his later years. Without any relatives, One Hope Charity gathered donations from the public to provide a coffin, an urn, a niche for the ashes, and to handle all the funeral arrangements, ensuring he could complete his final journey with dignity.

The elderly man, Ong Chew Keat @ Bee Heng, was previously hospitalized after a fall. The hospital was unable to contact any family members to discharge him. Due to his old age and inability to care for himself, the Welfare Department placed him in a nursing home. However, he passed away in his sleep 12 days later.

Upon receiving the call for help, One Hope Charity promptly arranged a team to handle the elderly man's posthumous affairs. Since he had no relatives, One Hope Charity provided a coffin, performed the rites, and also handled the collection of the ashes and their placement in a niche, ensuring all posthumous matters were properly addressed.

One Hope Charity has always provided coffins and posthumous assistance to impoverished families. As long as they meet the qualifications, we fully cover the funeral expenses, allowing families to send off their loved ones with peace of mind.

#PromiseOfTheLastJourney

One Hope Charity promotes the "Promise of the last journey" care plan, allowing elderly individuals without family support to register in advance. This way, One Hope Charity can fulfill their funeral wishes after their passing.

Thanks to the regular donations from the public, the foundation can promptly assist more needy families and elderly individuals in handling their affairs after their passing. Those interested in contributing can donate at any time, as this support is ongoing to meet unforeseen needs.

Additionally, if there are impoverished families who cannot manage post-mortem arrangements for their deceased relatives or single elderly individuals who need pre-registration assistance, they can contact ONE HOPE CHARITY's hotline for help at 016-920 2920, 016-419 2192, or 04-539 9212.
